Jennifer Friedman

About

Jennifer F. Friedman is a Professor of Epidemiology and Pediatrics at Brown University. She is a pediatrician conducting international health research out of Lifespan's Center for International Health Research. Her research addresses the quantification of and mechanisms of morbidity of parasitic diseases among pregnant women and children. Her recent work focuses on treatment strategies to mitigate morbidity among pregnant women and children, as well as how to change and implement policies for more inclusive treatment programs for schistosomiasis. Her research areas include global health, malaria, maternal and child health, and specific focus on regions such as the Republic of Uganda and the Philippines. Dr. Friedman has contributed to understanding the impact of parasitic infections during pregnancy, the immune responses involved, and the development of effective treatment and policy strategies to improve health outcomes in affected populations.
