Ellen P. Green

About

Ellen P. Green, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the College of Health Solutions and a faculty affiliate of the Department of Economics in the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She is also a research affiliate at the Mayo Clinic. Her active research agenda focuses on health economics, utilizing health care simulations and experimental economics to better understand how clinical decision-making is influenced by changes to health care policy. Prof. Green has led interdisciplinary teams investigating health care payment systems, behavioral biases in deceased-donor transplantation, and experimental design. She has received funding from multiple agencies including the NIA, NIDDK, NIDA, and NSF. Her notable awards include the 2011 Lee B. Lusted Award in behavioral economics from the Society of Medical Decision Making and the 2020 College of Health Solutions Research Award for her significant contributions to the college's mission through research. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Tech and was an Alliance Fellow at the Mayo Clinic’s organ transplantation center.
