Edward George Buckley is the James Pitzer Gills, III, M.D. and Joy Gills Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology in the School of Medicine at Duke University. He serves as the Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and is a Professor of Ophthalmology. Additionally, he holds the position of Vice President of Duke-National University Singapore Affairs and is a Professor in Pediatrics. His professional roles are centered around ophthalmology with a focus on neuro-ophthalmology and pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. His work involves leadership in academic medicine, contributing to both research and education within the field of ophthalmology at Duke University.
