Donald Wood is a Lecturer in Management at Stanford Graduate School of Business, with a focus on accounting. His extensive professional background includes serving as Managing Director emeritus at the venture capital firm DFJ, venture partner at B Capital, and senior advisor to Energy Impact Partners and Piva Capital. His research interests include venture capital, entrepreneurship, leadership and team building, business strategy, and sustainable energy, with a particular focus on promoting innovative startups in the sustainable energy industry and integrating Stanford's programs related to energy and efficiency to address the global climate crisis. In teaching, Don leverages his industry experience to educate students on all phases of the startup process, including classes such as 'StartUp Garage' and 'Clean Energy Opportunities: Business Models and Innovations,' and guest lectures in engineering departments.
