Yun-Sheng Chen is an Assistant Professor at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His primary research areas include bioimaging at multi-scale levels, bionanotechnology, and biophotonics, with a focus on angiogenesis, dynamic imaging, early cancer detection, and image-guided drug delivery. His work involves the development and application of medical imaging systems, particularly for breast cancer, vascular, and kidney diseases, utilizing techniques such as optical diagnostics, ultrasound, and photoacoustic imaging. Dr. Chen earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012, where he also obtained a certification in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Since joining the University of Illinois in 2021, he has contributed to advancing the field of biomedical imaging through innovative research and holds several patents related to ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging technologies.
