About

Xu Xu is an associate professor whose research primarily focuses on human motion data analysis and theoretical human biomechanical modeling with an emphasis on safety promotion. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and NC State's Research and Innovation Seed Funding. Xu has co-authored more than 80 journal articles and conference proceedings related to these research topics. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in human factors and ergonomics, including Fundamentals of Human-Machine Systems Design, Occupational Safety Engineering, Occupational Biomechanics, and Advanced Biomechanical Modeling. Prior to joining NC State, Xu started his career as a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University’s School of Public Health and later served as a research scientist at the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety, where he received multiple awards for best papers and outstanding scientific contributions.
