Susanne Jaeggi

About

Susanne Jaeggi is a psychology professor at Northeastern University with a research focus on understanding individual differences in working memory, executive functions, and related cognitive domains. Her work explores the malleability of these cognitive abilities across the lifespan using experimental and neuroscientific approaches. She has a particular interest in the development of assessments and interventions aimed at improving working memory and executive functions through experience and targeted training. Her research also investigates the underlying mechanisms of learning and cognitive training, as well as the effectiveness of such training for different individuals and populations. Dr. Jaeggi holds PhDs in Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience, along with a ‘Habilitation’ degree in Psychology from the University of Bern in Switzerland. She conducted postdoctoral research in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. Her work has been funded by various organizations including NIH, NSF, IES, ONR, and the Advanced Education Research and Development Fund. Her research contributes to understanding how cognitive training can enhance memory and attention, with implications for educational settings and daily life.
