Lisa Bertram is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She received her Ph.D. in Epidemiology and Psychology from Yale University in 2007, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biobehavioral Cancer Prevention & Control at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in 2009. Her academic background also includes an M.Phil. and MS in Psychology from Yale University, and a BA in Psychology from Carleton College. Dr. Bertram's research focuses on health behaviors and interventions, particularly related to physical activity, nutrition, and cancer prevention and control. She has contributed to the understanding of the effects of yoga on quality of life and anthropometric measures in breast cancer survivors, as well as examining injury risks in sedentary individuals participating in exercise trials. Her work emphasizes the importance of behavioral strategies in improving health outcomes, and she has authored several publications in the field of nutritional epidemiology and supportive care in cancer. She joined UW–Madison in 2014 and is actively involved in research and academic activities within her department.
