Kendrin Sonneville

About

Dr. Kendrin Sonneville is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She also serves as the director of the Center of Excellence for Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health at the same institution. In addition to her primary appointments, Dr. Sonneville holds an adjunct position at Harvard Medical School and acts as a Collaborating Mentor for the Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders (STRIPED) at Boston Children's Hospital and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. As a registered dietitian, behavioral scientist, and public health researcher, her work centers on the prevention of eating disorders among children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Sonneville employs a weight-inclusive framework in her research to promote health and well-being while avoiding the unintended consequences of increasing body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and weight stigma. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Michigan State University, a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, and a Doctor of Science in Public Health Nutrition from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
