The Walsh Lab uses mouse models of autism to explore neural circuits and molecular mechanisms behind sociability. Jessica J. Walsh is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine, combining state-of-the-art whole brain optical clearing methods, light sheet microscopy, in vivo imaging, and machine learning based behavioral analysis to elucidate the neural adaptations responsible for motivated behavior.
