Currently, she is working on a monograph analyzing Ptolemaic desert settlements in Egypt and finalizing her fieldwork publication at Horvat Omrit in Israel. She also leads the Catawba Vale Collaborative, a project focused on developing accessible trail networks and uncovering regional history in North Carolina. At UNC, she teaches courses on archaeology and heritage, Egyptian and Roman archaeology, and borders and boundaries, as well as graduate courses on Roman provinces, Hellenistic and Roman Egypt, archaeology and nationalism, and island and desert archaeology.
