Hilary A. Beaver, MD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College and an academic institute member at the Houston Methodist Hospital and the Blanton Eye Institute. She graduated with an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1991 and completed her internship and residency in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine and The Cullen Eye Institute in Houston, Texas. Dr. Beaver has held academic positions including Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology at The University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences before joining The Methodist Hospital Physicians Organization in 2009. She also holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Texas in Galveston. Her research interests include medical student and resident education, ophthalmology competencies, and geriatric ophthalmology. Dr. Beaver has contributed to numerous research publications and chapters, with a focus on intraocular lens design, ophthalmic diseases, and digital ophthalmology education.
