Dmitri A. Gusev is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue Polytechnic Institute. His primary research interests include imaging, graphics, game development, visualization, and computational linguistics. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indiana University in 1999, and his academic background also includes a Master's degree from Indiana University and an Honours Diploma from Moscow Institute of Radioengineering, Electronics, and Automation. Gusev has extensive industry experience, having worked as an image processing scientist at Eastman Kodak Company from 1999 to 2007, where he developed algorithms for digital halftoning, color management, image quality evaluation, and image compression, and co-authored multiple patents. He has over nine years of full-time teaching experience, including positions at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where he contributed to the development of a Game and Virtual World Development track, and facilitated online classes for Boston University Metropolitan College. His scholarly work includes numerous publications, patents, and presentations, with a focus on imaging technology, digital printing, and visualization. Gusev is actively engaged in industry collaborations and professional organizations such as the Society for Imaging Science and Technology, the International Game Developers Association, and the Association for Computing Machinery.
