About
Dr. Desiree Delgadillo is an Assistant Professor of Population Health and Disease Prevention at UC Irvine. She is a health psychologist and a first-generation college graduate. Her program of research focuses on the interplay between emotions, stress, close relationships, psychophysiology, and the composition of the gut microbiome in both children and adults. Her research aims to reveal mind-gut-microbiome connections that can improve quality of life across socioeconomic statuses, ethnic groups, and health conditions across the lifespan. As an interdisciplinary researcher, her goal is to help create a new, integrated understanding of how microbial and psychological systems may work together to mutually promote wellness.
