David W. McDonald

About

David W. McDonald is a Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. His research specialization includes computer supported cooperative work (CSCW), human-computer interaction (HCI), and large scale information systems. As a faculty member, he contributes to advancing understanding and innovation in how people interact with technology in collaborative environments and how large information systems can be designed and managed to support these interactions effectively. His work is situated within the broader interdisciplinary context of HCDE, which integrates perspectives from computer science, engineering, information studies, and social sciences to improve the design and use of technology in human-centered ways.
