Daniel Bodansky

About

Daniel Bodansky is a Regents' Professor of Law at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. He is also affiliated with the Center for Law, Science and Innovation and the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability's School of Sustainability. Professor Bodansky is recognized as a leading authority on international environmental law, with a particular focus on global climate change law. His teaching portfolio includes courses on public international law, international environmental law, and the international law of armed conflict. Before joining ASU in 2010, he held the position of associate dean for faculty development and the Emily and Ernest Woodruff Chair in International Law at the University of Georgia School of Law. His academic career also includes appointments at the University of Washington School of Law, Georgetown University, and George Washington University law schools. Professor Bodansky has significant government experience, having served as the Climate Change Coordinator at the U.S. Department of State from 1999 to 2001 and as an attorney-advisor at the Department from 1985 to 1989. He has consulted for the United Nations on climate change and tobacco control issues and has been a senior advisor and consultant on climate change projects at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions since 2001.
