About

Chandra Sen, MD, is the co-director of the Anterior Skull Base Surgery Center and a member of the Lateral Skull Base Surgery Program at NYU Langone. He is a pioneer in anterior and lateral skull base surgery approaches and specializes in minimally invasive skull base surgery. Dr. Sen has been performing these procedures for almost 30 years and works with a team that has extensive experience treating tumors at the base of the skull, many of which are benign but located near critical nerves, blood vessels, and the brain stem. His focus is on surgical treatment of skull base tumors, employing specialized techniques and sometimes combining surgical and nonsurgical treatments to optimize patient outcomes. He emphasizes clear communication with patients to help them understand their conditions and treatment options, aiming to alleviate fears associated with brain tumor diagnoses. His research involves studying the anatomy of the skull base to better understand tumor behavior and improve surgical approaches, and he has published papers and written books on the topic. Dr. Sen is committed to advancing treatment outcomes and providing comprehensive, team-based care at NYU Langone, where he is recognized as one of America’s top doctors by Castle Connolly for over a decade.
