Vicky Evangelidis-Sakellson, DDS, is a graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she also completed her General Practice Fellowship training. She earned an MPH from the Department of Public Health at Columbia University. Dr. Evangelidis-Sakellson has been a full-time faculty member at Columbia since her graduation from dental school. She led the development and implementation of the first comprehensive care program for predoctoral students in the country, focusing on integrating patient care with a didactic curriculum that combines basic, behavioral, and clinical sciences. She has created institutional materials including clinical manuals, student assessments, and outcomes evaluations, and she leads faculty in their teaching efforts, fostering a collaborative educational environment. Her teaching emphasizes the importance of data and evidence in diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Evangelidis-Sakellson has received multiple awards, including the clinical faculty recognition award in 2010, 2013, and 2014, as well as the Melvin Moss Faculty award. She is an active member of the American Dental Education Association, participating in workshops on student learning, outcomes of care, ethics, and professionalism, and collaborates with other departments within Columbia University, including research on interprofessional education and practice in patient care.
