Dr. Sherine Gabriel is the Executive Vice President of ASU Health and a University Professor of the Future of Health Outcomes and Medicine at the College of Health Solutions, with a joint appointment in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. She earned her MD with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and completed Internal Medicine Residency and Rheumatology fellowship at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. She also holds a master's degree in clinical epidemiology from McMaster University and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and rheumatology. Dr. Gabriel has a distinguished career dedicated to innovative education, career development, and health research, receiving numerous honors including the Mayo Clinic Distinguished Educator Award and the McCann Scholar Award for Excellence in Mentoring in Medicine and Science. Her research program, largely NIH funded, has resulted in over 250 peer-reviewed publications addressing the risks, costs, determinants, and outcomes of rheumatic diseases, and she is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the Association of American Physicians. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles at Mayo Clinic, Rutgers University, and Rush University, contributing significantly to health sciences research, education models, and strategic alliances, with a focus on health equity and healthcare delivery improvement.
