  • A review on the powertrains and energy management strategies of electric tractors

    The Innovation Energy · 2024-12-31 · 7 citations

    reviewOpen access

<p>Given the increasing demand for sustainable agricultural practices and energy conservation, advanced technologies for electric agricultural machinery (EAM) are critically needed. This paper provides a comprehensive review and analysis of powertrain systems and energy management strategies (EMSs) for electric tractors (ETs), a key representative of EAM. Specifically, this paper: (1) outlines the current development status and research significance of ET powertrains, including single-ener…

  • Quid Pro Quo, Knowledge Spillovers, and Industrial Quality Upgrading: Evidence from the Chinese Auto Industry

    American Economic Review · 2025-10-30 · 4 citations

    articleSenior author

This paper studies the impact of quid pro quo (technology for market access) in facilitating knowledge spillovers and quality upgrading in the Chinese automobile industry. The identification strategy exploits within-product quality variation across a rich set of quality dimensions. We find affiliated domestic automakers adopt more similar quality strengths of their joint venture partners, consistent with knowledge spillovers. Additional analysis suggests worker flows and supplier networks mediat…

  • Industrial Policies and Innovation: Evidence from the Global Automobile Industry

National Bureau of Economic Research · 2024-11-01 · 4 citations

    reportOpen access

This paper examines the impact of industrial policies (IPs) on innovation in the global automobile industry. We compile the first comprehensive dataset linking global IPs with patent data related to the auto industry from 2008 to 2023.We document a major shift in policy focus: by 2022, nearly half of all IPs targeted electric vehicles (EV)-related sectors, up from almost none in 2008.In the meantime, there has been a clear technological transition from internal combustion engine (GV) technologies…

  • An Underground Reservoir Resistivity Monitoring System for CO2 Reservoir Characterization

    2025-05-17

    article1st authorCorresponding

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) in deep subsurface is a promising way to slow the CO2 accumulation in atmospheric and marine and mitigate global climate change. The sequestrated CO2 needs to be safely stored underground for hundreds of years or longer. Monitoring the saturation of CO2 in subsurface reservoirs is crucial to prevent leakage. As is well known, reservoir resistivity is a key parameter used to compute the saturation of CO2, thus, monitoring the saturation of CO2 is to track changes…
