Qingwei Li is a Lecturer in Applied Analytics at Columbia University School of Professional Studies and a Principal ML/AI Specialist at Amazon Web Services. His main interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, the Internet of Things, and various applications of machine learning. In his current role, he builds state-of-the-art machine learning solutions in the cloud for companies across different industries. Prior to his role at Amazon Web Services, he served as CEO of Transparent Analytics, where he managed teams and helped clients develop analytical solutions. His work included detecting labels from audio files using AI and analyzing large volumes of text with NLP to gather market intelligence. His academic background includes a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida, with research focused on mathematical optimization and operations research. He has published research papers in notable journals such as Computers & Operations Research, Transportation Research E, and the International Journal of Production Research. Additionally, he has broader interests in value investing and finance. Qingwei Li enjoys teaching and mentoring students.
