Nikki Beloate is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Penn State University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from 2010 and earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2016. Her research focuses on neurobiological mechanisms related to behavior, neuroplasticity, and addiction, with a particular emphasis on neural circuits involved in reward and motivation. She has contributed to studies exploring cortical networks, neuronal hyperexcitability, and the effects of social and drug-related stimuli on neural plasticity. Beloate has been actively involved in academic service, including committee work within Penn State and external research organizations, and collaborates on projects that combine principles of neuroscience and biomedical engineering to better understand human health and disease.
