About

Dr. Mohammad H. Dastjerdi has been an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School since 2013. He graduated with an MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1990 and completed his residency at Kansas University Medical Center. He also completed a research fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Dastjerdi specializes in cornea, external ocular diseases, and corneal transplantation. He teaches refractive surgery to ophthalmology residents at Rutgers NJMS. His research and clinical interests include corneal nerve and epithelial cell alterations, management of eyes with no light perception after open globe injury, and treatment of dry eye disease and corneal neovascularization. He holds medical licensure in New Jersey and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in Cornea and External Diseases.
