About

Michael J. Ho is a Professor of Practice at the UVA Darden School of Business, specializing in finance. He has been teaching in the Finance area at Darden for 24 years. His research interests include mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, equity research analysts behavior, investment bank reputations, and underwriter choice in initial public offerings. With over 35 years of transaction experience in mergers and acquisitions, he is a managing director and the co-head of Buyside M&A Advisory at Fifth Third Securities, the investment banking division of Fifth Third Bank. Prior to this, he co-founded and managed Praxis Partners LLC, a financial advisory firm focused on mergers and acquisitions advisory services for middle-market companies and custom executive education programs for financial institutions. His previous roles include being a principal in Mergers and Acquisitions and director of Asia-Pacific Investment Banking at Robertson Stephens & Company, as well as an associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions department at the First Boston Corporation. Ho has also developed and delivered custom education programs in corporate finance, valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy for various clients.
