About

Jill Deutsch, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Digestive Diseases at Yale University. She serves as the director of the Yale Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders Program, the associate director of the Fellowship Program in Digestive Diseases, and the medical director of the GI Motility Laboratory. Dr. Deutsch graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry – New Jersey Medical School and completed her residency at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School, where she also served as Chief Medical Resident. Her research interests include functional gastrointestinal disorders and complementary and alternative medicine in gastroenterology, topics on which she has authored book chapters. She has been awarded a grant from the American Gastroenterological Society to develop a Neurogastroenterology Motility Curriculum for GI fellows in training. Dr. Deutsch is also dedicated to education, serving as the associate program director for the fellowship in digestive diseases, and she is an associate editor for the Fellows and Young GI Section of Digestive Diseases & Sciences. Additionally, she is a certified yoga instructor and has developed a curriculum to promote resident wellbeing, which she incorporates into her clinical practice and her role as the director of wellness for the Division of Digestive Diseases.
