Jeffrey A. Fagan is the Isidor and Seville Sulzbacher Professor of Law at Columbia Law School, where he has taught since 2001. He is a leading expert on policing, crime, gun control, and race, with scholarly research that influences public policy. His work includes significant scholarship on capital punishment, the legal socialization of adolescents, neighborhoods and crime, juvenile crime and punishment, and police practices.
