Jacqueline Reid-Walsh is a Professor of Education, Language and Literacy Education and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include historical children's literature and culture, children’s and youth popular culture, comparative media literacy, and girlhood studies. As a literary historian, she employs theoretical lenses drawn from cultural studies, children’s studies, and feminist studies. She has co-edited and co-authored several books, with her most recent publication being Girl Culture: An Encyclopedia (2007). Additionally, she is a founding editor of the journal Girlhood Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal.
