About

Igor Slukvin is the Henry Pitot Professor in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. His research interests focus on understanding the cellular and molecular pathways that lead to the development of hematopoietic and vascular cells from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). He works on advancing induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technologies for hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation and immunotherapies. His work also aims to establish next-generation animal models and tools for assessing precision stem cell therapies, which are vital for developing novel sources of cells for bone marrow transplantation, transfusion, and immunotherapies for cancer and AIDS.
