Professor Jun Lou, Ph.D., holds the position of Karl F. Hasselmann Professor of Materials Science and NanoEngineering. He is also a professor in the Department of Chemistry (by courtesy) and serves as the Site Director for the NSF IUCRC Center for Atomically Thin Multifunctional Coatings (ATOMIC). His professional affiliations include memberships in the Smalley-Curl Institute, the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering, the Rice Center for Quantum Materials, and the Rice Advanced Materials Institute (RAMI), where he is a committee member. Additionally, he is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Materials Today. His research focuses on the development and understanding of atomically thin materials and their multifunctional coatings, contributing to advancements in materials science and nanoengineering. Professor Lou's work involves interdisciplinary collaboration, as evidenced by his co-advising of Ph.D. students and involvement with various research groups and institutes at Rice University.
