Derek Elsworth is the G. Albert Shoemaker Chair and Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Penn State. His research interests include energy geomechanics, porous media flows, computational mechanics, and unconventional resources. He is involved in studying the mechanics of energy-related systems, focusing on understanding and modeling complex geological processes and resource extraction techniques.
