DelWayne Bohnenstiehl is a Professor in the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at NC State University. His research utilizes geophysical tools to address a wide range of problems, including underwater sound and ocean noise, soundscape ecology, seafloor and lake-bed mapping, earthquake seismology and seismotectonics, paleoseismology, landscape and terrain processes, submarine volcanism, archaeological geophysics, and environmental geophysics. He is also a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Geospatial Analytics and is involved with the Unmanned Surface Vehicle Facility. Dr. Bohnenstiehl holds a PhD in Marine Geology & Geophysics from Columbia University, an MS in Geology from Vanderbilt University, and a BS in Geology from Eastern Illinois University. His work focuses on applying geophysical methods to understand various geological and environmental phenomena.
