David J Gordon

David J. Gordon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics at the University of California Santa Cruz. He has held academic positions including SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa's School of Political Studies from 2015 to 2017, and Instructor at the University of Manitoba's Department of Political Studies, where he taught courses such as Introduction to Comparative Politics and Introduction to International Relations. He earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto in 2016, specializing in International Relations, Global Environmental Governance, Comparative Climate Governance, and Urban Politics. His dissertation, titled "From Global Cities to Global Governors: Power, Politics and the Convergence of Urban Climate Governance," was supervised by Matthew Hoffmann, Steven Bernstein, and Michele Betsill. David J. Gordon also holds a Master of Arts in Political Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors from the University of Manitoba. His research focuses on cities, city-networks, and global climate governance, exploring the intersections of urban politics and environmental governance on a global scale.
