Carl Asche

About

Carl Asche, MBA, MSc, PhD, is a Research Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy in Salt Lake City. He serves as the Executive Director of the Pharmacotherapy Outcomes Research Center (PORC) within the college and also directs the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program in the Department of Pharmacotherapy. Additionally, he holds appointments as a Research Service WOC employee at the Veteran's Affairs Salt Lake City Healthcare System and as an Associate Member of the Cancer Control and Population Science Research Program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. His research focuses on the use of comparative effectiveness research and cost-effectiveness analysis in health care decision making. Dr. Asche has authored and co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications in medical and economic literature. His current research is funded by various federal agencies and pharmaceutical companies. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Surrey, MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, and MBA from the City University of Seattle. Dr. Asche is actively involved in teaching, serving as a lecturer for courses such as Cost-Effectiveness and Validation of Economic Models, and participates in numerous national and international health economics-focused boards and committees.
