About

Ann Hsing is a professor of medicine at Stanford University and a senior fellow for the Center for Innovation in Global Health. She has conducted population-based epidemiological studies across four continents, including North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. Her expertise encompasses the epidemiology and etiology of prostate, hepatobiliary, and thyroid cancers, as well as hormonal carcinogenesis and circadian rhythm. With over 22 years of experience at the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Hsing has developed extensive expertise in molecular epidemiology, global oncology, cancer prevention, and population-based studies in international settings. She has served on numerous committees and advisory boards, including as a member of the Editorial Board of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention and as an academic editor of PLOS ONE. Dr. Hsing has authored more than 340 peer-reviewed articles, written seven book chapters, and mentored over 65 post-doctoral fellows and scholars. Her current research projects include longitudinal studies on well-being across multiple countries, investigations into liver cancer patterns and trends, and studies on non-viral factors of liver cancer, as well as the clinical utility of ctNDA in liver cancer surveillance. She also leads a genome-wide association study of prostate cancer in African countries and utilizes big data resources to inform clinical practice.
