Alan Barreca is an Associate Professor at the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at UCLA, having joined the institute in 2017. Prior to this, he worked in the Economics Department at Tulane University in New Orleans. He earned a PhD in Economics from UC Davis in 2008. We find that days with a mean temperature above 80°F cause a large decline in birth rates 8 to 10 months later.
