About
Abigail Arons, M.D., MPAff, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UC Davis Health. She is a primary care physician offering comprehensive care for adults and children, with a special clinical interest in supporting young people transitioning out of the pediatric health system and in preventing and managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Her work emphasizes providing humanistic care in partnership with patients, understanding how health and symptoms affect their lives, and helping patients make informed, evidence-based decisions. Outside the clinic, she focuses on improving systems of care, especially for young people and those managing chronic conditions, and works to coordinate and navigate these systems. As a Central Valley native, she is committed to serving and giving back to her community. Her research concentrates on early prevention of diabetes and cardiovascular disease during young adulthood. She employs epidemiologic, implementation science, and community-based research methods to inform practice and policy changes that support young people in achieving lifelong health. Additionally, she teaches and mentors medical students and residents, contributing to the education of future physicians.
